  2. Thanks for the article. My great-grandfather, Corporal William Larkin, was a member of Company C, Alabama Corps of Cadets and present at the battle at Tuscaloosa. My father (born in 1917) had childhood memories of him and used to play with his Springfield rifle and Confederate army cap that he brought home. I, as a young man, attended Marion Military Institute back in the early 70’s. At that time the Murfee family was still involved with MMI.
