  1. In the 1950s, my mother and grandmother took me to a family reunion near Gainesville, Ga. We passed my grandmother’s childhood home and she remarked that it was the only home that escaped damage during a large storm in 1885. This weather sounds as if was as widespread as the 1974 and 2011 tornado outbreaks.
