Sam Perkins was born in Smith County, TN.  He graduated from Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, TN with an EE degree.  He moved to Hoover, AL forty two years ago.  He is retired from BellSouth where he last worked as an Operations Manager.  He lives in the Bluff park area of Hoover with his wife Katie.  They have three grown daughters and two granddaughters.
