My great grandmother had 17 children. Reared 16 to adulthood. Great grandpaw was 35 and she was 18 when they married. Farmers from Tallapoosa County.
I bet they just fell out.
Thank God I didn’t live in those times! My Mother’s Mother had 12 children and died pregnant again! Isn’t it a shame it was not allowed to teach women a way to avoid so many pregnancies.
