I know this isn’t a story about Alabama, but I was researching some of my family who traveled west and ran across the photos and story. I never really understood how difficult their life was until I saw the pictures and heard their words. I thought I’d share them on www.alabamapioneers.com. Many of our ancestors who moved to the west and experienced the Dust Bowl, traveled further to California around this time. This is life as they had to endure it during those tragic years of the 1930s.
