i remember crossing on one just like this —early 50’s
I remember as a child crossing the river at Round Mountain on a ferry. Mr Earl Prater was the operator, if memory serves. It always scared me.

No directly related, I will go miles out of my way, if I have time, just to cross a river on a ferry. I don’t know why but, crossing on a ferry brings me a kind of peace.
