T’would wake him did he know you read his tombstone gratis.


From a tombstone in England

Here lies William Smith, and what is somewhat rarish,

He was born, bred and hanged in this here parish.


An insription on a tombstone in East Tennessee reads:

She lived a life of virtue and died of the cholera mobus,

caused by eating green fruit, in the hope of a blessed immortality

at the early age of 21 years 7 months and 16 days.
